Technology provides humanity with completely new dimensions of understanding. However, in the present meta-industrial era, technological progress creates the need for a new value system. The Biopolitics International Organisation and the International University for the Bio-Environment have, as the main goal, to promote a bio-assessment of technology, by placing the respects and appreciation of the bio-environment at the core of all human endeavors.
With this vision in mind, the Fifth Biopolitics International Organisation International Conference was realized in Istanbul, Turkey, on May 1992. It is hoped that the new horizons opened during this conference will contribute to the effort to assess technological progress through the prism of bios in the next millennium, a unifying vision leading to a new era of bio-culture and bio diplomacy.
